FAQ

Licensing Questions

The Pilot License is a focused 12-month engagement designed for organizations that want to validate QDL Core within their operations before committing to a larger deployment. It covers a single defined use case (e.g., timber origin verification), limited to 1–3 geographic countries. You get full API access within those parameters, NFCC integration, standard support (48h response), and a quarterly review to assess pilot outcomes and plan the next phase.
Sector Exclusive grants exclusivity within an industry vertical — for example, the structural timber sector. No other organization within the same industry (globally) can license QDL Core for that sector's use cases. A Territory Exclusive covers a geographic area regardless of industry. Sovereign licensing combines territory-wide rights with government-level legal terms. The right choice depends on your strategic position: protecting industry dominance vs. geographic market control vs. national infrastructure sovereignty.
All QDL Core licenses include renewal terms at the licensee's option. Renewal pricing is negotiated at the 12-month mark before expiration, with preference given to existing licensees. For Pilot licenses transitioning to Enterprise or Sector, renewal terms account for the pilot period already completed. We do not involuntarily decline renewals.
Yes. Licensees can upgrade their tier at any time with a pro-rated adjustment. For example, a Pilot licensee can upgrade to Enterprise mid-term, paying the difference for the remaining period. Upgrades are processed within 30 days of agreement and do not interrupt existing operations.
Enterprise and above includes a structured onboarding program: a kickoff workshop (1–2 days), technical integration planning (2–4 weeks), API integration support, and on-site onboarding visits twice per year. You also receive a dedicated account director and quarterly strategic reviews to ensure the license is delivering maximum value.
The Pilot License ($2M–$5M) is the minimum engagement. We do not offer partial access or trial licenses below this threshold. This reflects the serious commitment required for QDL Core infrastructure — it's not a product you evaluate casually. We do offer a complementary 15-minute demo walkthrough for initial qualification.
All licenses require a Master License Agreement (MLA) and associated schedules for the specific tier. Pilot licenses require an NDA as a first step. Enterprise and above also require an IT Security Schedule and a Service Level Agreement. Sovereign and Territory licenses require full government legal review and may involve bilateral treaty frameworks. Our legal team works with your counsel throughout the process.
